The Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the most popular festive markets in the UK and each year we see around 250,000 visitors travel to our historic city to enjoy the sights and sounds.
If you are planning to visit the Lincoln Christmas Market this December, make sure you take time to plan your journey, so you spend less time travelling and more time enjoying yourself!
Most of Lincoln City Centre is closed off during Lincoln Christmas Market due to traffic concerns. However, a very efficient Park & Ride scheme comes into operation during the Christmas Market in order to ensure people can get safely into and out of the city.
The Lincoln Christmas Market Park & Ride runs from the Lincolnshire Showground on the A15, three miles north of Lincoln.
Buses run on a ‘fill & go’ system, or every 7 minutes basis (whichever is the quickest), from the Lincolnshire Showground to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, which just a few minutes’ walk from the Lincoln Christmas Market.
On the day charges for the Park & Ride are as follows;
A vehicle carrying 8 to 15 people is classed as a mini bus and the fee per vehicle is £25.

Please note: The earliest departure time shown is from The Lincolnshire Showground. The latest departure time shown is from the Museum of Lincolnshire Life.
East Midlands Trains is adding a further 14,000 seats for the Lincoln Christmas Market weekend.
Trains from Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and Peterborough run throughout the day to Lincoln Xmas Market.

The British Pullman Steam Train will leave London Victoria on Friday 4th December at 8:30am.

Additional Special Trains
There will also be additional trains from Leeds and Edinburgh specially timed for the Lincoln Christmas Market.
On board these trains you will find seasonal refreshments and additional early/late trains to allows plenty of time for shopping.

Services 7, 8, and X7 (open top bus) run between Lincoln City Bus Station (opposite the train station) and Lincoln Christmas Market.
Buses will run every 10 minutes.
Please note: City Dayrider and Megarider passes are permitted for use on the Shuttle Bus Services
This service runs from Silver Street to Pottergate every 20 minutes and is accessible for wheelchairs and push chairs
If you prefer, you can book any of the local Lincoln Taxis to take you to the Lincoln Market. However, please note that taxis will have to adhere to road closures and only use designated drop off points.
