Golfing is one of the many activities which visitors and tourists can enjoy in Lincolnshire. In fact, there are quite a number of golf courses in Lincolnshire with almost all open to the public – with no membership needed.
Lincolnshire is the second biggest of all the counties in the UK, stretching over 1,663,850 acres of beautiful countryside with some of the most historic and scenic views available.
The county is rich in both history and atmosphere, providing you with a fantastic opportunity to view some of England’s old buildings whilst here on your golf stay.
With over 25 golf courses in Lincolnshire, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Despite Lincolnshire’s size and coverage, many of the golf courses are close to one another, which makes squeezing two rounds into one day much more achievable.

Situated in the coastal village of Addlethorpe near Skegness, Skegness Golf Centre is open on weekdays and weekends. They always welcome everyone who has a passion for the sport. Tee time is from 8am until dark. The golf club also has a modern clubhouse with a licensed bar and restaurant serving snacks and other meals.

Ashby Decoy is an 18-hole golf course and considered to be one of the leading courses in the region. The golf club is located on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, which is near the major towns and cities in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Ashby Decoy has a Clubhouse which has a bar and offers excellent food. Visitors are allowed in the club from Monday to Friday.

Belton Park is located near the town of Grantham in south Lincolnshire and considered to be one of the finest golf courses. It has 27 challenging but attractive holes spread over 240 acres of Parkland.

Boston West Golf Club has an 18-hole course with water playing a big part on a lot of holes. The golf course has a lot of well-positioned bunkers. Visitors are welcome and are encouraged to participate and enjoy the club. The club is always on the lookout for ways it can be improved to provide better service to members and visitors.

One of the oldest golf clubs in Lincolnshire, Carholme is an 18-hole parkland course located within the city’s boundaries. The golf club is also near the City Centre. Although Carholme Golf Club has a membership, they welcome visitors of all ages anytime of the year.

This golf club boasts of an 18-hole, par 70 golf course. It boasts the longest hole in Europe, measuring 671 yards. It is also known as Lincolnshire’s Premier Golf Course. The clubhouse offers refreshments and snacks. Interested visitors may also join in the golf lessons offered on a weekly basis.

Kingsway Golf Course is located near the Scunthorpe town centre. It has an 11-hole course ideal for the beginners or those who are serious about taking up golf. They offer golf courses: individual or group. Kingsway is open 7 days a week.

This 18 hole course is set within 120 acres of used-to-be farmland, owned and developed by local farmers of the area.
The course is challenging, with every hole different from the last to keep your round entertaining right until the end. The par 70 course, with a length of just over 5,500 yards, is suitable for all levels of players. You’ll also find a spacious club house, a ten bay driving range and on site Golf pro should you require tuition.

The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa, also the home of England Golf, is strictly for members only. However, once you see the courses and facilities, it quickly becomes apparent why. Woodhall has two courses; the Hotchkin and the Bracken – the former is currently ranked as the 54th best course in the world.
Woodhall offer a fantastic selection of golf and local accommodation bundles, along with coaching packages on some of the finest and most expansive coaching facilities in Europe.
The courses are par 73 and 72 respectively, both set in stunning surroundings. The town of Woodhall Spa itself is also well a visit either before or after you’ve finished with your clubs!
