The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors’ Centre is based at RAF Conningsby, between Woodhall Spa and Tattershall.
The BBMF Visitors’ Centre consists of fascinating exhibition areas, a well-stocked shop and a small refreshments area. Entry to these are FREE.
However, the highlight of of any visit to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre is a guided tour of the aircraft hanger, for which there is a small charge.
Hanger Tours last for approximately 60 minutes, during which time you will be able to get up very close to the iconic aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight: the Lancaster Bomber, the Spitfire, the Hurricane, the Dakota and the Chipmunk.
Your tour guide (knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated volunteers) will tell you fascinating anecdotes about these planes. At times you will also find BBMF technicians working on these amazing aeroplanes, and you will be able to witness the work involved to keep these grand old dames airworthy.
