Grimsthorpe Castle in Bourne, is a historic stately home set in almost 3,000 acres of beautiful parkland.
Dating back to the 12th Century, Grimsthorpe Castle was extended by the architect Sir Thomas Vanbrugh for the visit of King Henry VIII in 1541.
Open from April – September, visitors can take a tour of the house, explore the lovely formal gardens and take one of the many trails through the extensive parkland.
Guided tours of the house are compulsory on weekdays and last approximately 60 minutes. On Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, visitors are allowed to wander around the house unescorted.
The parkland has several cycle trails – bicycles are available for hire, or visitors can bring their own.
Grimsthorpe Castle is perfect for the whole family, with a fantastic Adventure Playground and series of child-friendly events throughout the summer.
