Located in charming village of Timberland in Lincolnshire, the Penny Farthing Inn is a traditional village pub that offers bed and breakfast accommodation. The excellent staff makes everyone feel welcome, giving an impression of home away from home that visitors appreciate. The friendly vibe continues throughout your stay and no request within reason is too much trouble for the staff. While it is located 25 minutes away from the central part of Lincoln City, this in no way detracts from the Penny Farthing’s overall appeal.
There are 7 quality, large executive double en-suite rooms available at the Penny Farthing, all of which are equipped with 32 inch digital televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi access. The rate starts at £50 per night for single occupancy and £60 per night for double occupancy, including a full English breakfast.
The Penny Farthing has an excellent restaurant in a rustic setting that serves up carefully prepared and delicious home cooked food. Aside from the generous, tasty full English breakfast that perfectly sets you up for the day, the Penny Farthing serves lunch and dinner.
The menu changes seasonally, but a sample of what guests can look forward to can include Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé with a Spinach and Grain Mustard Veloute, Rillette of Duck with a Watercress and Rocket Salad and a Plum Chutney (starters), Shank of Lamb with a Sweet Potato and Rosemary Mash, Herb Gnocchi with Ratatouille and Crushed Feta Cheese (mains), Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, Plum, Vanilla and Mascarpone Crème Brulee served with a Shortcake Biscuit, (desserts) and more. The fact that the Penny Farthing serves up a generous portion of great food for the price is a pleasant surprise.
The bar serves a full range of ales, lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
