The Tennyson

The Tennyson is in a location that offers easy access to all parts of the historic medieval city of Lincoln, as well as shops, restaurants and other attractions. The guest house, which is 2 Victorian semis that have been converted into a bed and breakfast, was named after Lincolnshire’s own Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson. Unfortunately, the structure makes it difficult for people with mobility issues to access as all rooms are on the first floor and can only be recommended for those who can climb stairs. The Tennyson is owned and operated by Jeff and his wife Kim.

Accommodation Details

It is comprised of 8 spacious and well-appointed en-suite rooms with remote control colour televisions (with SCART connection for playing games or connecting a DVD player), radio alarm, trouser press, full courtesy tray with coffee, tea, and homemade biscuits by Kim, hair dryers, toiletries, sewing kits, free wireless broadband internet access, work table and a teddy bear to keep you company.

Facilities

The hearty English breakfast is served from 7AM to 9AM on weekdays and from 8AM and 10AM on weekends; however, earlier breakfasts for those who need them can be accommodated by arrangement. Jeff and Kim understand that not everyone wants to eat out all the time, so they open the dining room to guests who wish to eat their takeaways there. Menus from a variety of local takeaways can be found in the guest rooms.
