Lincoln Christmas Market 2020

Sadly, the Christmas Market in Lincoln is CANCELLED for 2020 for the wellbeing and safety of all. A difficult decision by City of Lincoln Council. It will be back in 2021, even bigger and better than ever.

The Lincoln Christmas market takes place every year and is one of the most famous in the county, and even England! People travel from all over to see more than 200 stalls that are based around the castle and cathedral. It has an incredible atmosphere that is bound to get you in the festive spirit.

Opening times for the market are as follows:

  • Saturday 5th December: Midday to 9:30pm
  • Sunday 6th December: 10am to 9:30pm
  • Monday 7th December: 10am to 9:30pm
  • Tuesday 8th December: 10am to 7:00pm

While you browse the stalls you may find a few presents for the people you care about, as well as having a glass of mulled wine and trying out some of the freshly cooked food.

  • Castle Hill and Lincoln Castle: feature German-themed stalls, due to Lincoln’s twinning with Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Germany, with arts, crafts and more.
  • The Lawn: will feature the Christmas Pantry, Christmas Bazaar, a variety of food and drink that is local, and much more.
  • Lincoln Cathedral West Front: will have beautiful and authentic wooden chalets for a real Christmas feel, with the cathedral as a backdrop.
  • Westgate and the Fairground: while there will be a craft marquee, there will also be fairground rides and the famous Big Wheel.
  • Medieval Bishops’ Palace: travel back in time and browse the medieval market stalls in historic surroundings.

Even the shops on the high street will stay open for some late night Christmas shopping.
